In October 2023 we were awarded a Bronze EcoVadis Medal.
What is Ecovadis? It’s a globally recognized assessment platform that rates businesses’ sustainability based on four key categories: environmental impact, labour and human rights standards, ethics, and procurement practices.
What does it mean? Getting a bronze medal placed us among the Top 50% of companies assessed by EcoVadis. We’ve been recognised as doing some pretty amazing things in the way we operate our business and as a services organisation, we are extremely proud to be awarded this accreditation.
To celebrate the completion of the assessment, EcoVadis planted a tree on our behalf through their partnership with One Tree Planted.

At the start of 2023, we introduced an inaugural annual sustainability focus area and supporting campaign. We aim to do our bit as an organisation to reduce our impact on the world around us. This year the campaign was titled “Going Green for ‘23” and we couldn’t have had a greater response across the board. The hugely successful sustainability push was created by the Green Team but more importantly, 12 empowered team leaders from across the business enthusiastically drove the campaign to success. More details below.
ITV Home Planet for Opticore
In January 2023 we teamed up with ITV to launch an exclusive app for our staff that aimed to positively improve our environmental impact through healthy competition. The app offered a fun and creative way to make positive change by gamifying sustainable living.
Our staff gained access to lots of easy tips across different categories, and each time they actioned one of the tips, like using a refillable water bottle instead of a plastic bottle, they earned a planet point for their team. Some tips were second nature, but not all.
At the end of our competition phase, we awarded the team with the most planet points a sustainable prize. But the biggest prize was that we were all doing our bit to act on the climate crisis, making personal changes and contributing to making Opticore a more sustainable business.
We’d like to thank ITV for their support in developing and launching our competition – we couldn’t have done it without you!
